At your selected Interview Time, please bring your child and your school supplies if you have not ordered them through Staples. School fees can also be paid at this time. This week the children will be investigating the Life Cycle and habits of Penguins. The children will discover interesting facts about Penguins through books, pictures, videos and Penguin stuffed animals. As well, the children will complete Penguin crafts and play Penguin Games in the gym. This week the children will read, discuss and sequence the events of the Ukrainian selection, The Mitten by the author,Jan Brett. The children will actively engage in various crafts and activities to enhance the selection. Jan Brett has created many dramatic and beautiful picture books in her distinctive style. Each page comes to life through her creative use of imagery on the page borders. SAAG Field Trip'
This month our field trip will be to SAAG (Southern Alberta Art Gallery) on January 29h. The children will view the present display in the gallery and create their own art project to take home. Later in the month there will be a Parent Volunteer Sign-Up sheet available. The AM and PM class attend during regular class time. Of course, the highlight of the presentation was when a child was dressed in the work suit. This week we will discuss the role of a Police Officer. A member of the City Police is scheduled to visit the classroom to explain their role in the community. |
